Baseball Information
First thing to mention when looking for baseball information is the inventor of baseball.
Everybody wants to know who invented their favorite game. And, like many things in baseball, this is one of the tings that continues to be debated to this day. For a long time, and some people still believe this is true, Abner Doubleday created the sport of baseball. However, what good is baseball information if it isn’t documented. The first documents to ever prove who invented baseball were the rules that were published by Alsexander Cartwright and his team the Kinckerbockers Base Ball Club. However, this doesn’t prove that Cartwright invented the game at all. But, since he did develop the rules of the game, he is considered to be the father of baseball. The game itself was played in England for years before Americans adapted it to close to how we know baseball today. In England they played a game called rounders which was very similar to baseball. To find more baseball information about your favorite team, visit your team’s website or check out a book about the history of baseball from your local library.
Baseball Bat Information
Baseball information certainly includes the bat. The bat evolved from a paddle, basically, to what it is today. The shape and size continually evolved, as well as how heavy the bat is. They figured out many, many years ago that wood could give the batter a little more hitting power to help the ball sail further, hopefully to hit a home run. But, when the players realized how heavy these pats were, they knew they couldn’t put enough power behind the baseballs to get them to go as far as they wanted. The baseball bat makers eventually moved to aluminum and now players are not allowed to use aluminum bats because of how light they are and how easy it is to hit a home run for most major league baseball players. The league didn’t want baseball just to be a game of home runs. So, the baseball bat makers decided on somewhere in between heavy wood and light aluminum. They mostly use a different kind of lighter wood such as maple, or they produced the outside of the bat with wood and the inside has other components to it. This evens out how many home runs are hit over the course of time.
Baseball Stats Info
There are so many good statistics when it comes to baseball that they could never fit into an article of this size. How long the longest game in history was, who is the fastest pitcher of all time, how long was the longest game, who is the home run leader, who is the most winning pitcher? All of these questions can be answered by buying a book that is diverse and holds a lot of statistics or visiting your local library to find out about your favorite team or just more about baseball in general.
